Clients and dogs
Add clients, invite them to Handlr, and keep each dog's details, health and training in one place.
Add a client
- Open Clients → Clients and choose Add a client.
- Enter their name and email, and optionally their phone and home address (for home visits).
- Add their dogs. Choose Add another dog for more than one.
- Add a personal message if you like, then Send invitation.
We email them an invitation from your business. When they accept in Handlr, they become your client and can see the dogs you’ve added. Until then they show under Invitations, where you can resend it.
Import from a spreadsheet
Moving from another system? In Clients → Clients, choose Import and pick a CSV file of up to 1,000 rows. Match each column to a field (name, email, phone, address, tags and the dog’s details), check the preview, then import. One row per dog: rows with the same email become one client. Imported clients can be booked, invoiced and trained straight away. Invite them to Handlr now or later, and their records are waiting when they sign up with the same email.
Join links and QR codes
Instead of inviting each owner, share a join link. In Clients → Join links, make a link and put it on your website, socials or in an email. Make separate links (for example one for your Instagram bio) to see where people find you. Each link has a QR code to print on flyers or show at the door.
Welcome pack on the Clients page makes a PDF in your branding with your about text, team, services, prices and policies, an optional programme outline and a QR code for one of your join links. Print it or send it to new clients.
Owners who open a link ask to join with their dogs. Their requests wait in Messages for you to accept or decline.
Leads
People who might become clients go in Clients → Leads, from first contact to signing up. Leads come from your website, referrals, social media, the Handlr directory, join links, consultations, phone calls and walk-ins. When they sign up, take them on as a client.
A dog’s page
Open any dog from Dogs or from its owner’s page. It holds:
- details, photos and owners
- health notes
- its programme, grades and progress
- sessions, stays, homework and progress reports
Owners can suggest changes to their dog’s details from Handlr. Their suggestions show on the dog’s page for you to accept or reject.
Owner self-grades
Owners can rate how their dog is doing at home in Handlr. These show separately from your grades and never change them.
