Getting started
Your first fifteen minutes in Kennelworks, from an empty account to your first dog in training.
Kennelworks is the trainer app at kennelworks.app. Your clients use Handlr, the free owner app, to see their dogs, book, pay and message you.
1. Create your business
Go to kennelworks.app/signup, create your account, then enter your name, your business name and the currency you charge in. Next you choose a plan. See Signup, trial and plans.
2. Set up how you work
Work through these once. Each is in the left-hand menu.
- Admin → Sites: where you train or board. One site is enough for most businesses.
- Training → Programmes: what you teach, in what order and to what standard. See Programmes and skills.
- Money → Billing → Catalogue: the services and packages you charge for.
- Money → Billing → Payments: connect Stripe so clients can pay by card. See Billing and payments.
- Marketing → Branding: your logo and colours, used in the app, in Handlr and in your emails.
3. Add your first client and dog
Open Clients, choose Add a client, enter their email and their dogs, and send the invitation. They get an email from your business and join you in Handlr. See Clients and dogs.
4. Put the dog into training
Open the dog from Dogs, put it on a programme, and book a session from Calendar. After the session, grade the skills you worked on. The dog’s progress shows straight away on the Dogs page and in the owner’s Handlr app.
5. Bring in your team
On the Team or Business plan, invite your trainers and kennel staff from Staff in the main menu. See Inviting staff and roles.
Where to look each day
- Today: what’s booked now and next, dogs to work, and sessions to finish off.
- Dogs: every dog in training, where it’s at and what it needs next.
- Messages: client conversations and requests waiting for you.
The user guide covers each part of the app in turn.
